We show you how to get BT Sport 1, home of BT’s Premier League coverage – for no extra cost.

Sky TV customers with BT Broadband can make use of a neat menu hack that sees them essentially getting BT Sport 1 for free. It’s called BT Sport Lite.

When we say that BT Sport Lite is ‘essentially free’, you’ll still need to be a Sky TV subscriber; packages start at £20/month if you want a Sky+ box and £44/month for Sky Q packages.

BT Sport isn't available via the Sky Go app usually however it might be possible to watch it if the app is connected to a Sky Q box as you might be able to stream it from the box. If this isn't possible then I'm afraid you will have to watch it via your Sky box instead. Sky Sports Box Office events are available on your BT TV box, via either channel 496 or the BT Player (only for fibre customers). Please go to bt.com/skysportsboxoffice for more information on upcoming events. Removing Sky Sports during the summer when there’s no football on.

The cheapest BT Broadband package that comes with unlimited downloads will set you back £13/month plus line rental.

BT line rental is currently charged at either £17.99/month for the standard rate or £194.28 up front for 12 months’ worth of line rental.

Note that from July 3 onwards, BT’s putting up the cost of line rental to £18.99/month or £205.08/year.

So at the very least, you’re going to be looking at paying £42.99/month for Sky TV and BT Broadband and £43.99/month from July onwards. You probably want to know how to get a free pay TV channel right?
